Open Letter to Our Readers, November 14, 2008

An open letter to our readers: We appreciate your interest in the information on our site. Judging from the exponential increase in traffic to the site and the many comments you have submitted, there is widespread recognition in the community, both in Wisconsin and beyond, regarding the significance of the recent events in Shawano.

Because we cannot respond to each of you individually, we are writing this open letter as a general reply to our many readers, especially those of you who have taken the time to provide your comments.

**We would like to thank those who have written in recognition and support of this description of the struggle against the unjust powers of evil who rule the town of Shawano, to those who realize that our freedom is not to be taken for granted, and that discrimination and prejudice still occur today, in the United States.

**To the investigative journalists, news anchors, and others who are curious to know more, we wholeheartedly invite you to come to Shawano to investigate for yourselves. Much evidence remains to be uncovered regarding the games Shawano officials have been playing over the past decades.

Some years ago, a Shawano Leader editor reportedly wrote an article stating that Judge Grover had many appeals granted against him for lack of his attention to fact. You know what? The next week this editor was fired. And Judge Grover is still here in Shawano, dispensing his own personal opinion as fact, without the least regard to the rule of law.

But don't take our word for it—come to Shawano and look at the public records of Grover's cases over the last decades. Take a look at the lawsuit filed against the City of Shawano and these same Shawano officials by former Shawano Chief of Police Norman Jahn in the late 1990's. This lawsuit cost the city thousands of dollars in legal fees. When you visit, ask people around town how they have been treated by Shawano Police Officer Ryan Atkinson, the one who dislocated SIST CEO Naomi Isaacson's wrists.

**A number of you have mentioned your own experiences with Shawano city officials, which will remain under strict confidence. We are writing this open letter to you also. We now know that the experiences described here are not unique; these same officials have been doing the same things to many people, many of whom have left town. The patterns of obstruction of justice and complete disregard for the rule of law have been going on for a long time.

No wonder these people dislike when someone comes in and challenges their corrupt dealings. How long will it take before the general population and the news media realize that the Emperor (or the Shawano Mayor) truly has no clothes?

**To those of you who are offended by your perception that we are attacking your religion, this open letter is addressed to you as well. We can only ask that you take a step back, detach yourself and take an objective, hard look at the history of Christianity. Again, the facts are the facts. We will be updating the site with a short history of the relationship between Christianity and other religions over the centuries. We invite you to not only read this, but to search further yourself. Start, for example, by reading some of Martin Luther's own words. An honest, open mind is not afraid of the truth. If you find yourself becoming defensive, ask yourself why.

Most people in northern Wisconsin grew up locally and know only their own small world. They have rarely traveled beyond state lines, let alone throughout the world. But let this not limit your awareness of events that have occurred throughout history. Visit the library, search online, do your own research and come to your own conclusions. If you are sincere, if you want to know the truth, it isn't hard to find. When you do this, you may be surprised at what you discover.

The goal of this website is to provide the facts regarding the ongoing controversy between the city of Shawano and SIST. But ultimately, this is not about a small dispute in a small town in northern Wisconsin, certainly far from the center of the world. It is about the struggle for truth and justice, about bringing the facts to light so that people everywhere can know what is happening today in the United States of America. We hope this open letter will help bring our intentions to the fore.

The experiences and events described here are not unique. Others throughout the country have suffered similar injustices, discrimination, and prejudice. The struggle described here will no doubt be viewed differently by people throughout the world who have suffered at the hands of those in power, whether they were missionaries or invading armies or people from the West coming to control in the name of promoting trade.

Just one request in this open letter—take an objective look at the facts.

Meg Schaeffer
