Naomi Isaacson's Arrest and Mistreatment by Law Enforcement AgentsTuesday, November 18, 2008On Monday Naomi was taken by US Marshals to the Federal Detention Facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was not allowed contact with her attorney nor her family either before or during her transfer. She was kept without food or water all day in Milwaukee in a holding cell, with chains around her waist, and her arms and legs chained together. What is the point of this torture? Do they think that this young woman, after not eating or drinking for five days, is a dangerous threat? No, the reason is to break her down psychologically. In fact, Naomi has not been charged with any crime or sentenced for anything. What is their purpose in holding her indefinitely? Nobody, including her attorney, had any idea where she was. This is just like the Inquisition, just like the Holocaust, where a family member disappeared and nobody had any idea what happened to them. Monday, Novmeber 17, 2008What is happening to Naomi? What are they doing to her? Where is she? Why haven't they allowed her to speak with anyone today, not even her attorney? What do the authorities have to hide?Naomi disappeared from the Brown County Jail in Green Bay this morning without being allowed to call her family or attorney. She was supposedly taken by US Marshals and whisked away without anyone's knowledge. Nobody had any information, and officials who do will not tell her family anything about her. Attorney Alan Eisenberg made dozens of calls throughout the day on Monday and was never able to speak with his client.Captain John Jadin is completely covering up the events that occurred during Naomi's detainment at the Brown County Jail. He openly lied at a press conference and said she was provided everything she needed and was offered food, and that she never asked for a special diet or made any requests. Why doesn't someone get a hold of the transcripts of Naomi's calls to her family during her stay at Brown County? As of her last contact at 9:30 pm CST on Sunday evening, she clearly stated that she had not been given even a drink of water, which her sister had brought for her on Saturday. Sunday, November 16, 2008Naomi Isaacson, a young attorney, was arrested Friday morning, November 14, 2008, and is being held without being charged with any crime in the Brown County Jail in Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. Naomi, as an observant Jew, requested kosher meals. Even though there is a provision for an outside vendor to supply kosher food, Naomi was refused kosher meals. She was told she had the choice either to eat the non-kosher jail food or go hungry. So Naomi had no choice. She did not eat or drink anything all day Friday nor all day Saturday.On Saturday night her sister came to visit but was not permitted to see her. Naomi had indicated she had had nothing to eat since her arrest Friday morning. After speaking with the Lieutenant at length, Naomi’s sister was permitted to bring her kosher food, and the Lieutenant would hold it there and give it to her little by little. Her sister brought $70 worth of groceries, only dry and canned foods, fresh fruit and bread. That night, after starving for two days, Naomi was able to take only some crackers and juice. On Sunday the Captain was furiously angry with the Lieutenant and ordered that Naomi was not to be given any kosher food – he said, ‘Eat the non-kosher food or go hungry.’ Naomi has not eaten anything all day today (Sunday). Alan Eisenberg, Naomi’s attorney from Milwaukee, arrived to see her at the Jail today and spoke with NBC Channel 26. He told them the following information: After three days of starvation Naomi’s head is drooping, she appears frail, fragile and pale. Her wrist braces, worn due to severe pain from police mistreatment, were confiscated by the jail as a security risk. Consequently, Naomi’s wrists and arms have gone limp and the jail is refusing to give her usual pain medication to her. Moreover, she was put in a cold, unheated cell. Now the Captain is threatening that if Naomi does not eat the non-kosher food, they will strap her down and force-feed her. Contrary to this first hand report by Eisenberg, NBC Reporter Wendy Navani broadcast the statement made by the Brown County Jail Supervisor, which is not true, that Naomi is eating and drinking and comfortable in her warm cell. In fact, Naomi still has not been given anything to eat, while other inmates are getting their three meals a day. This outrageous cruelty is occurring in America TODAY in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The clear anti-Semitic behavior of Captain Jadin and the staff of the Brown County Jail cannot be tolerated. We urge you to call Captain Jadin today at 920 448-4520 and request that the Brown County Jail not starve Naomi Isaacson to death, but allow her to eat the kosher food that is there for her.
